Since my stash was totally depleted of kids themed fabrics; I found 9 cute fabrics (on sale no less) and bought a yard of each.
I already used 2 fabrics in these quilts...
...amazing what a yard can do by adding your stash fabrics.
....and then, yesterday, I finished a quilt with this fun little dinosaur panel and matching yardage.
I love how all the dinosaurs have a goofy smile.
The coordinating yardage has all the dinos labeled--and in smaller print, the meaning of their names.
The blue border around the panel and the outside orange border came from my stash.

I squeezed out just enough backing by adding a strip of the blue.
I had enough blue for the binding too.
Quilted it with some random diagonal wavy lines.

Head on over for some inspiration!
I really love making kids charity quilts, but never thought to do just various width stripes, mixed with some solids, that looks great! Quick and easy, but highly appealing, thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteAdorable quilts. They will be loved by the kids who receive them.
