I have decided to attach the border as I assemble the quilt.
This way, I can stay-stitch the edges as I go.
This way, I can stay-stitch the edges as I go.
Here are the first rows stitched together.
With a seam just waiting to pop open every 2 inches, I feel like I am working on a spider web...trying to keep all this piecing together.
By sewing this quilt top together 2 rows a time, then sewing those larger rows together, etc., I am not wrangling the larger bulk of the quilt through the machine for every row. If I can keep it smaller, there will be less chance to unravel a stitched seam.
So far, so good. 😊
Love your border idea. Your quilt is looking great. I wish I could bust out my scraps and make one right now.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Fingers crossed those seams don't pop.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt looks great! I love the scrappy pattern. This may be my first visit to your blog, but I'm going to add you to bloglovin'. Glad I found you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! I love your idea to stay stitch the edges, and put it together in small parts.
