Auction Quilts

I am sending these 2 fun quilts to an auction to help a friend who is a racehorse jockey.  He was injured in an accident.  We have known this family all of our lives, so I was glad to be able to quilt these and send them out today.
Flannel, curly minky and fleece.  Yummy, soft and cuddly.
Maximizing the 60" width of the minky and a 57" length of the flannel, you can get a finished size of 42 x 56.  So versatile: a toddler quilt, a lap quilt or just a quilt to keep in the truck.  They are super warm and a little heavier than normal cottons would be.

A few years ago, I made a tutorial explaining how I make this fleece binding: fleece-binding

I just happened to have 2 bolts of Riley Blake's "Wanna be a Cowboy" flannel.
One in cream and one in pink.
Curley Minky is the bomb for the back.
Hobbs 80/20 batting and So Fine thread.
I love this simple little freehand lasso-loop that is easy to do and just enough quilting.
No piecing here, I'm just letting the fabrics do all the work.
